Ms. CHO Nansim, Vice President of the Korean Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, was invited to speak at the 2nd APCEIU Round Table of 2015, held on 6 February as part of APCEIU’s staff development workshop. 

After beginning the lecture with an explanation of the newly revised curriculum, Ms Cho emphasized academic areas such as humanities, integrated social studies and integrated science as fundamental components of reaching the educational goal of cultivating creative, well-rounded individuals. She also brought attention to the significance of Education for International Understanding (EIU) as one of many cross-curricular academic themes.

유네스코 아태교육원과 한국교육과정평가원(KICE)은 8월 28일 교류협약서를 체결했다.

협약서 체결에 앞서, KICE의 글로벌 협력 활동을 중심으로 한 기관소개가 진행되었다. 김성훈 한국교육과정평가원장은 KICE가 교과과정, 교과서, 교수학습 및 교육평가 관련 활동을 통해 교육 발전에 기여하고자 하는 노력과 더불어 기관의 글로벌 영향력 강화에 대한 의지를 밝혔다. 정우탁 원장은 유네스코 아태교육원과 KICE 간의 오랜 협력관계를 상기시키고 양 기관의 결실 있는 협력을 기대한다고 밝혔다.
본 교류협약서에 따라, 유네스코 아태교육원과 KICE는 인력 교류, 교육 연구, 연수 프로그램 개발 및 실행, 정보 공유, 시설 공동 이용 등의 분야에서 상호 교류를 촉진하게 된다.

APCEIU and the Korean Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 28 August 2014.

The Signing Ceremony commenced with an introductory presentation on the KICE with a special focus on its global cooperative activities. Mr Kim Sunghoon, President of KICE, further elaborated that the KICE had been determined to expand its global scope and influence as part of its ongoing endeavours to improve education through the programmes on curricula, textbooks, teaching and learning and education evaluation. Extending his appreciation for the briefing, Director Chung Utak reminded the long history of partnership between APCEIU and KICE and foresaw the fruitful collaboration between the two institutions.
According to the MOU, APCEIU and KICE are expected to accelerate the mutual cooperation in a number of areas including exchange of human resources, educational research, development and implementation of training programmes, information sharing as well as use of physical facilities.
