From the 15th to 25th of June, during the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee in Doha (Qatar), the Committee added a total of 26 new sites the list.

A total of four natural World Heritage Sites were inscribed, two of which were in Asia:
   △ Great Himalayan National Park (India)
   △ Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary (Philippines)
The Trang An Landscape Complex (Viet Nam) was inscribed as a mixed natural and cultural site, as well. Also, a total of 21 cultural sites were added, of which seven were from the Asia: 
   △ Namhansanseong (Republic of Korea)
   △ Pyu Ancient Cities (Myanmar)
   △ Rani-ki-Vav <The Queen’s Stepwell> at Patan, Gujarat (India)
   △ Shahr-I Sokhta (Iran)
   △ Silk Roads: The Routes Network of Chang’an-Tian-shan Corridor (Kyrgyzstan, China and  Kazakhstan)
 Grand Canal (China)
   △ Tomioka Silk Mill and Related Sites (Japan)
Myanmar made its entry onto the World Heritage List with the inscription of its first site, the Pyu Ancient Cities. The South China Karst (China), inscribed onto the World Heritage List in 2007, now extends to an area of almost 50,000 hectares.
